Easy Homemade Pancakes The Whole Family Will Love

When my mom was a little girl, every Friday night was pancake night. Now that I think about it, my guess is that her parents were exhausted by the end of the week, and pancakes just seemed like a quick and easy meal to whip up. Whatever the reason, my mom fondly remembered gathering around the table with her 3 sisters, and brother, talking the night away over stacks of fluffy pancakes.

When my husband and I moved into our house, one of the first projects we wanted to tackle was our kitchen. By no means was it in terrible condition but the countertops were done in a popular 90’s era pink laminate with cream white moldings reminiscent of the McDonald’s many of us remember as kids. 5 years later we’ve managed to do several home improvements but low and behold we are still preparing meals on those same outdated countertops. It was time! After all, we use the kitchen more than any other room in our house. So many memories are made here, whether it’s company gathering around the island for party nights or the kids learning how to crack their first eggs.

With the help of Home Hardware we can finally say goodbye to our original two tiered pink counter tops. Their friendly and knowledgeable staff has gone over and above, helping us to create the perfect kitchen to continue making beautiful memories in.

Now that our kitchen is finally complete, I wanted to share with you all, our family favourite pancake recipe that the girls love helping make in the early mornings, and the occasional Friday night.

  • 4 Tbsp sugar

Time for the best part, we like to make our own pancake topping bar. This means maple syrup, whip cream, bacon (trust me on that one), strawberries, blueberries, and my kids personal favourite, sprinkles. Tell me, what is your favourite pancake toppings?
