HELLO! Where has the time gone?

To the wonderful people who read my blog and have been wondering where I have gone, I would just like to say hello.

WordPress sent me a lovely email the other day (or maybe the other week) saying  “it has been two months since you’ve posted anything, your followers would like to hear from you again.”

First off, thanks WordPress for making me feel like people enjoy hearing the rambles of an over tired, under caffeinated mama. Secondly, yes I am still alive. If you follow me on Instagram you know that our youngest just turned one. WHAT?! ONE!

That means I now have two kids that aimlessly walk/crawl around the house in different directions slowly destroying everything I hold dear. So in honour of Brin Brin turning 1 last week I would just like to say a few words.

Miss Brinley Alice,

Since you were our second child your dad and I thought that we had this parenting thing all figured out. I mean, we had the diapers, the wet wipes, the crib, the car seat, the cute outfits, and everything else we figured we needed.

We thought having a second baby would just be twice the work. In math terms, it was a 1+1= 2 mentality. However we soon realized that when it comes to kids 1+1=tired wet cat riding a unicorn.

You have taught me how to run off of no sleep, and how to enjoy my coffee cold. You have taught me how to make my meals from the crumbs you throw on the floor, and that your favourite time to crawl up the stairs is when I’m in the bathroom trying to get your sister to use the potty.

But most importantly you have taught me that 1+1 actually equals 1000 more kisses, and love that is unmeasurable. Thank you for your smiles, your contagious laughter, and teaching me that math sucks, and its easier just to finger paint on the walls.

Moms little helpers

Don’t worry mama, we got this

Happy (belated) Birthday baby girl, we love you so much….but stop destroying our house.

Oh my gosh I laughed so hard. This is so relatable. I love your blog. “Stop destroying our house” hahaha, I remember window trim being ripped off at my house by a toddler who wouldn’t stop pulling to wiggle it out. You’ll get sleep some day, I promise.

    Happy Birthday, sweet Brinley!
