23 May Glitz and Garland
What takes your party from dollar store drab to wahoo lets dance? Gold party animals obviously! This next project is great because you can use scrap fabric that you have laying around plus it is bright, whimsical, and easy to do. I decided to use the left over pink fabric from Avery’s tipi project so that the colours would match (plus I’m a sucker for anything pink).
I also wanted to add a little bit of pizzaz and after my spray painted spirit bear project I have a new love of gold animals…well a new love for gold everything. Look out everyone I am now King Midas with my spray can!
What you will need:
- Fabric
- Gold Spray Paint
- Plastic Animals
- Eye Screws
- Rope
Step 1-Spray paint your animals gold. You will need to do a few light coats making sure the paint is dry every time before respraying. I’ve used a few brands of spray paint and been left with the dreaded tacky/never drying projects, however this Krylon one has fast drying and so far theres been no problems with it.
Step 2-I’ve gone over how to make tassels in my previous post, Lions, Tigers and Bears Oh My. However here is a nice little mosaic for you of these steps for a quick reminder.
Step 3-When your animals have been transformed to this majestic colour of gold insert your eye screws.
Step 4-String your rope with your fabric tassels and gold animals. I found it best to space out the animals a bit, so I did blue/pink/white twice and then would add an animal.
Step 5-Hang up and enjoy your unique and incredibly awesome garland.
